    Meet the Founder

    Mikee Vinzon

Founder & Captain — Digital Sailors & Macovin Web Co.

    Sailing on Instagram

Mikee Vinzon is a sailor, RYA Coastal Skipper, and web developer who founded Macovin Web Co., a full-service web solutions agency recognized as a top web development company on GoodFirms and winner of the TechBehemoths 2024 Award. With over 7 years of experience and 60+ projects across healthcare, ecommerce, sports, and nonprofit sectors, Macovin Web Co. has built a reputation for quality and reliability with a perfect 5-star rating across 31+ reviews.

An active competitive sailor in the Philippines, Mikee holds an RYA Coastal Skipper certification and has been deeply involved in the country's sailing scene — both on and off the water. She served as Jury Secretary of the International Technical Committee at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, working alongside international and elite sailors in one of the region's most prestigious multi-sport events.

Her firsthand experience in regatta race management and the broader sailing community revealed the digital gaps that plague the sport — scattered race results, disconnected club communications, and outdated websites. This drove her to create Digital Sailors, the sailing-focused division of Macovin Web Co., dedicated to building modern digital infrastructure for the sport.

Mikee is also the creator of sailing.ph, the digital home of Philippine sailing — a community-first platform providing structured race results, club directories, regatta coverage, and a national events calendar. The platform is currently in its pilot phase with 8–10 partner clubs and over 100 active users, and Digital Sailors, Inc. is in the process of SEC non-stock registration.

Beyond client work, Mikee also built the websites for the Philippine Sailing Association (the national governing body) and the Philippine School of Yachting (the first and only RYA-certified training center in the Philippines).

    What We Build With

    The engineering behind the sites

Every project is designed, built, secured, and measured in-house. Nothing is subcontracted, and nothing here is a tool we’ve touched once.

Systems built for how the sport runs

    Race calendars and results

Custom post types and field structures that model a season — events, classes, divisions, notices of race, sailing instructions, results. Structured so entrants find what they need on a phone, so search engines can read the event data, and so a volunteer can update it without touching a page builder.

    Membership and renewals

Registration, renewal cycles, and gated areas for documents, berthing information, and committee papers. Role-based access, payment handling, and member records treated with the care personal data requires.

    Course booking for sailing schools

Live availability, intake dates, prerequisites, deposits, and certification pathways — built so an enquiry arrives qualified instead of as another email someone has to answer.

    Event entry and regatta management

Entry forms with class and division logic, payment capture, entrant lists, and integration with an existing system where a club already has one worth keeping.

    The stack

    Development

PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, SQL. React, Next.js, Node.js, Tailwind CSS. WordPress at the plugin and theme level: custom post types and taxonomies, ACF Pro, hooks and filters, shortcodes, the WP REST API, WooCommerce customisation. Bricks Builder and Elementor Pro. Git and GitHub, staging environments on every project, and handover documentation written as part of delivery.

Built with as few plugins as possible — most of what agencies solve by installing something, we solve with code. Fewer dependencies means fewer conflicts, fewer vulnerabilities, faster loads, and a site that survives the next update cycle.

    AI-assisted, human-reviewed

Claude Code, Cursor, and Lovable are part of the daily workflow. AI writes first drafts; every line is reviewed, refactored, tested, and documented before it ships. Independent scans of thousands of live AI-generated applications have found API keys in browser bundles, databases readable by anyone with the public key, and endpoints with no authentication check at all. Taking a prototype from working to production is separate work, and we do it regularly.

    Security

Wordfence, Sucuri, Cloudflare WAF, SSL/TLS certificate management, WordPress hardening, malware removal and recovery, and least-privilege access management with credentials scoped per client. Sailing organisations hold member records and payment details — that's handled as part of the build, not as an upsell afterwards. Scope note: security review and hardening, not formal penetration testing or compliance certification.

    Search and performance

Site architecture and internal linking, schema markup, crawl and indexation, canonical and redirect logic, migrations without losing rankings, local SEO and Google Business Profile. Core Web Vitals, caching, image delivery, database optimisation. Marinas and clubhouses have poor signal — sites are built to load anyway. RankMath, Yoast, Search Console, SEMrush, PageSpeed Insights.

    How work gets checked

Every project runs three gates: nothing starts without a complete brief; a pre-build gap check catches missing pages and placeholder content before development begins; content, QA, and hosting are verified before anything goes live. Hosting, DNS, tracking, forms, payments, plugin updates, launches, and security always get full review regardless of task size.
