Redesign, Optimisation, CRO, SEO, Maintenance
The Philippine Sailing Association is the national governing body for sailing in the Philippines, responsible for managing local and international events, promoting the sport and developing competitive sailors from youth to elite level. In 2023 PSA recognised that its website was outdated, lacked engagement tools and fell short of modern digital standards — and commissioned a full redesign, optimisation, security and SEO programme.
The site was not responsive across mobile and desktop and did not reflect PSA's standing as the authority on sailing in the Philippines.
Performance metrics sat well below industry standards, with slow pages frustrating users and pushing bounce rates up.
Navigation was inconsistent, so upcoming regattas, race results and sailing programmes were hard to find.
Low search visibility meant missed opportunities to reach new members, sponsors and sailing enthusiasts.
The site carried real risk for PSA and its users, with a growing database of members and event participants.
UI and UX research across sports platforms informed a user-centric, mobile-first design with a fresh palette, competition photography and clear routes to sailing classes, national events and athlete profiles.
A global CDN plus image and script compression and code minification cut page load times by more than 40%, keeping the site fast for international audiences.
SSL applied across the site to encrypt data in transit, with routine security monitoring and audits to protect member data.
Prominent calls to action around sailing class sign-ups and a rebuilt event registration flow for national and local regattas.
Schema markup for event dates, athlete profiles and results, keyword research applied sitewide, a blog programme, and a reclaimed and optimised Google Business Profile for local sailing searches.
Automated backups, Google Analytics and Looker Studio performance reporting, and a CMS the PSA team uses to publish events, results and articles themselves.
The same trust-building pattern we apply on maritime digital marketing projects for clubs and federations.
Five workstreams from redesign to ongoing reporting, each with its deliverables and the milestone that closed it out.
UI/UX research across sports platforms, then a clean, modern, mobile-first rebuild that matched PSA's role as the national governing body for sailing.
New design and structure approved before build sign-off.
